Supporting our International Sisters—
Reflecting God’s Love throughout the World

What a joy to have the privilege of serving as International Chair on the National Council.  It is for me a humbling but exciting opportunity to take part in the wonderful work the Order is doing around the world.  At the moment there are over 2500 international Daughters of the King in 171 chapters in fifteen countries!

 The Growth Continues

We have seen great answers to the prayer we pray daily for the spread of Christ’s Kingdom throughout the world.  Earlier this year, new chapters were instituted in Haiti, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic.  Just in the past month, since I was appointed international chair, we have received requests for charters for four Caribbean chapters, as well as a request for help in starting a chapter in India. Thanks be to God!

 Supporting the Growth
As we have been faithful, God has given the increase.  The prayers and generosity of Daughters in this country have planted chapters overseas, and now international Daughters are planting many more, especially in Africa and the Caribbean.  Along with the excitement of witnessing the rapid growth overseas, comes the responsibility to support and sustain our international sisters.  I am finding out how much has been done in the past by individual Daughters and chapters, as well as by Diocesan and Provincial Assemblies.  And I am realizing that as we grow internationally, so do our opportunities to help.

 The Needs

1.  Prayer—Become a Prayer Partner.  If your chapter has not yet partnered with an international chapter, do it now!  Prayer is always the most important support needed.  Contact me at the e-mail address below for more information.

2.  Financial Support—In addition to praying, you may choose to help financially. Chapter Sponsors are needed to purchase international crosses for new chapters.  Gifts to the international operating fund are also most welcome—to help translate materials and to bring international Daughters together.  Contact me or the National Office if you, your chapter, or your Diocese can help.

3.  Personal Support—Contact the National Office if you are traveling overseas—you may be able to visit, bring materials, or help start a new chapter!

  Thank-You!

This is my first opportunity to thank all the angels among us who have supported and guided our international mission in the past.  Thank-you to those who have started chapters and supported chapters, and to the many more who have planted seeds and soaked every effort in prayer. Thank-you to those who have made generous financial gifts, which have enabled the work to proceed.  Most recently, your special gifts made it possible for twelve international Daughters to be with us at this summer’s Triennial. You blessed us greatly with their presence, and enriched all of us through new friendships.

Your gifts have enabled us to make international mission a priority--and rightly so.  As we promote the Order, both domestically and overseas, women’s lives are transformed and the lives of those around them are transformed as well.  It is my fervent prayer that we will be filled with all the fullness of God as we continue in this work we have vowed to do--to spread Christ’s Kingdom and share His redeeming love with the world.

  Vision

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.                                                                           p.1 The National Handbook
